About Tracey
A Mi’gmaq artist born and raised on the shores of the Restigouche River. Tracey began her career in painting in 2015 as a form of therapy by creating cartoon characters for her grandchildren. After sharing her work on social media, she began receiving requests for abstract paintings, which ultimately led to the development of her own unique designs.
When her brush touched the canvas a bright spark was ignited, and she knew she had found her niche and has been creating art ever since. Her artwork gained rapid popularity, and she has collaborated with major corporations and notable figures such as Actor Ryan Reynolds, who shared her work on his Instagram through a mutual collaboration. Today, she has expanded her business by incorporating her designs into fashion items like handbags, wallets, luggage, and clothing.
Most recently her artwork drew the attention of the prestigious DPA Group for the Pre-Golden Globes Gifting Suites and she was invited to present her merchandise to celebrities in Los Angeles in January 2024. She is now focused on establishing a physical store to exhibit her artwork and to sell her products both in-store and online.
Tracey's artwork mirrors her personal life journey, and she believes that everyone is on their own path, striving to improve their lives and to reflect on their experiences. Currently residing in her home community of Listuguj, in the territory of Gespe’gewagi, Tracey holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Social Work from St. Thomas University, as well as a Masters Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.
